I am a public high school teacher with over 25 years experience of teaching social studies. I have taught American History, Civics, Criminal Justice, AP American Government as well as AP United States History. I also have extensive experience working with students with a variety of additional educational needs (ESL, IEP, and 504).

In college, I double majored in education and political science with a minor in history. It is this background that brought me to teaching US history and government for most of my career. I have enjoyed teaching my students about how our government operates and what their rights and responsibilities are in our society. As an educator, I have worked hard to ensure my government classes (both civics and AP American Gov't) can be accessible to all students.

For the majority of my teaching career I have worked with multilingual/English language learners and this has become a passion I didn't expect, but has really become a very rewarding part of my career.

When I am not working with students I love to travel; the highlight of my travels was winning a fellowship for 1 teacher to travel through China alone for a month (which included a week in Tibet). It was a phenomenal experience that allowed me to really explore the diversity of Chinese culture.
