Certified Tutor

As a former college graduate of Itawamba Community College, Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women, and William Carey University, I have obtained a total of four degrees and one endorsement in Reading Education. Throughout my undergraduate years, I have worked as a writing tutor. I had the honor to instruct and aid many students and adults to become more proficient writers and readers. Currently, I teach in Mississippi and just completed my 4th year as an 8th grade ELA teacher. At my current school, I serve as PLC leader and department chair of the 8th grade English department. Being an English teacher and a lover of the subject, I have had the privilege of tutoring a diverse population of students ranging from all ages. Furthermore, I enjoy writing essays and assisting students to improve in the following areas: English essay writing, English grammar and syntax, reading comprehension, and anything that allows students to learn how to be a better student of the English language. I have always been a lover of writing, reading, and teaching. I have grown to love writing and reading comprehension assignments. Thus far, I have participated in many professional development engagements, all of which have helped me improve as a teacher and as a tutor. Seeing students overcome their fears of reading and writing gives me such joy. Most importantly, I love tutoring because tutoring gives me the opportunity to help other students succeed and improve in the subject that I love so much: English and all of its components. My passion behind teaching follows my love for the profession. Let's learn together.
