Certified Tutor

My teaching is guided by a strong personal belief that every child is capable of success, no exceptions, and that one day all students in America will have equal access to high quality rigorous instruction. I am particularly passionate in cross disciplinary literacy instruction, and working with students to clearly communicate and advocate for the issues that are most important to them. I believe that the role of any educator is to give young people the tools they need to be conscious and critical consumers and citizens who will be prepared to enter whatever sector of society they feel called to.

I am a graduate of Creighton University (B.S.) where I double majored in psychology and philosophy and Arizona State University (M.Ed) where I specialized in secondary education and English Language Arts. Additionally, I am an alumni of Teach for America, a nationally recognized coalition working toward educational equity.

I currently serve as a middle school teacher, but enjoy working with students grades 6-12 on reading, writing, public speaking, and test preparation.
