Certified Tutor

Hello! My name is Mary and I am a licensed pre-K through 4th grade teacher. I also am certified as a Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach in kindergarten through grade 12.
I earned my bachelors degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and my masters degree from Slippery Rock University.
While an undergrad, I worked as a pre-k teacher and then went on to work as a behavioral therapist. This job entailed working with children with various and multiple disabilities and behavioral needs. Once I received my bachelors degree, I began working in the schools. While I earned my masters I was working as a substitute teacher, in all subjects ranging mostly from kindergarten through 8th grade. I worked an extended subbing position as a third grade special education teacher as well.
Teaching reading, writing, and spelling has always been my main focus. I am passionate about helping students find the beauty in our language and showing them how they can become experts at using it, all while having fun! However, I enjoy teaching math and science as well and am always eager to share my love of learning with my students.
