I am a graduate of Carson Newman College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and of Florida State University with a master's degree in early childhood education. I love helping children learn to read fluently and with understanding. I have many years of experience with young learners and know that positive encouragement helps children feel comfortable enough to excel. I work with children from where they are comfortable moving on to more difficult skills. Reading is my passion however, I enjoy teaching and helping children discover new found skills. I work well with young, beginning readers readers, ADD and ADHD students. I have worked with ESL children learning English both in the classroom and online. Each student brings opportunities for growth for both the student and the tutor. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, reading, playing word and online brain teasers.
