I am a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte, where I earned a BA in Psychology, and concentrated on Business Marketing and Human Communications. I later earned my Special Education and English Education Teaching Certificates from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
I am currently in my 21st year as a certified teacher, teaching 9th grade English. Over the last 20 years, I have experience teaching grades K-12 as both a Special Education Teacher and a General Education teacher. While I have experience in a broad range of subjects, my passion lies in Literature, Writing and Reading Specialties. I have a proven track record of growing students in these areas.

Overall, I believe that all students can learn and grow through the exploration of Multiple Intelligences and differentiating instruction. In other words, there is not a "one size fits all" strategy for teaching and it is our duty to determine what is essential for each individual student.

Hobbies

Throughout grade school, I was a three sport athlete (basketball, volleyball, and track), and I played basketball on the collegiate level. Because of my passion for sports, I have coached both basketball and volleyball on the varsity level. Outside of sports, I love nature and enjoying beautiful scenery.
