Certified Tutor

I recently retired from classroom teaching. I find that I miss working with young people. This was fulfilling in that I was able to be the conduit through which they found success. This is done through building trusting and friendly relationships with my students. I have made this my purpose for over 25 years.

I received my BA in Middle Grades Education from Augusta State University in Augusta, GA. I received my MA in Education Curriculum and Technology from the University of Phoenix. I have also taken additional PRAXIS exams to be be certified in elementary education.

I love teaching ELA and Social Studies most, and find that I can integrate these two subjects easily for a student to have more success in each subject.
I have tutored all aspects of the language arts curriculums, but focused on reading comprehension.

I love reading and literature as well as history and historical fiction.

My teaching philosophy is that EVERY child can learn, and it is my job to help them to be successful. This is done through building trusting relationships and a culture of cooperation and respect between the student, their parents, and me.

I love anything to do with the beach or ocean! I love to travel and read. I have a granddaughter that I spend a lot of time with as well.
