Much like the works of Kodaly, I believe we are inherently artistic beings in an inherently artistic society. As a music educator, my job is to provide a space for my students to engage with and create works of their own to hone their craft. The goal of my teaching is always to show the joy of making and consuming music and art in any form it takes. For me, this means creating a democratic space that celebrates every student and amplifies every voice. Students and teachers must create joyful spaces together: from me, my students should receive the tools they need to be joyful musicians, creatives, and humans.

While a music teacher, I very much consider making music a core hobby of mine. I am also an avid sewist and artist. In short, I love to create things and decorate spaces, whether that's with sound or visual art.
