As a second generation Mexican American, I grew up watching my parents struggle to make ends meet, in the absence of a college education. My father never gave up, and though it took him almost two decades, he graduated from college two days before I graduated from high school. My passion for education and in helping others succeed is based solely on my life experience as the child of a first generation parent.
I have worked with students throughout my entire educational career. From volunteering at the Special Olympics in my youth, to being a graduate teaching assistant, to being a professor, helping students learn in adaptive ways has always been a passion for me. Helping others to succeed to the greatest gift.
I attended Oklahoma State University, where I obtained a BA in History and a MA in Public History. This is where I also officially caught the teaching bug, as a voluntold gradate TA. Additionally, in 2013 I completed a MA in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Oklahoma.
The subjects I tutor are numerous but generally revolve around History and Social Sciences. My undergraduate minor was Sociology, which I can also tutor.
I very much enjoy tutoring History and all associated subject matter. Connecting the dots and seeing the look on a student's face when they finally get "why" this matters, is priceless. History can be fun, when presented in an applied and engaging manner.

I enjoy being outdoors in the sunshine, as well as cross-stitching and reading books written by David Sedaris. My free time is spent following my children, as they travel all over the State of Oklahoma, for their numerous activities.
