I am a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. I double majored in Marketing and Administrative Management. I graduated with a 3.98 GPA. After college, I worked in mortgage banking briefly and then began my family. While raising my children, I worked in mental health with the Employee Assistance Program. Eventually, I decided to get into the area of education and became a substitute teacher for grades K-12 for two years. I then moved to higher education and worked across the board in higher ed. I ended up in Human Resources where I stayed until I decided to leave and concentrate on working a job from home. Through the years, I have subbed for a variety of subjects and also tutored my own children as well as helped out with some college-aged students. I am a life-long learner and love to keep up on current events. I enjoy working with students to help them learn a subject matter. I do this by understanding each student and their specific needs. I believe that learning should be fun and apply to real life situations. I really enjoy math from K to Algebra. I also have a passion for literature and the English language. I spent many years editing students' English papers. In addition to helping students learn their subject matter, I worked with college students to improve their organization skills, time management and career possibilities. Watching a student succeed is one of the greatest rewards. I enjoy explaining information at a level equal to the student's ability to understand. Simplifying information to the student's level is extremely important. Not only does the student understand better, it helps with their self confidence. I look forward to working with your student.
