I am a seasoned teacher who has a passion for helping elementary-aged children grow in their knowledge and overcome learning challenges. I use the Orton-Gillingham method in reading instruction and a multisensory approach in math to make abstract concepts more concrete for young children. I teach grammar using Shurley English and the Classical method, progymnasmata, to teach elementary writing. I incorporate Gregory Milton's Seven Laws which highlights the importance of consistent review to assist a student in the mastery of academic content. My goal is to inspire confidence so that a student reaches independent learning. I have a master's from George Mason University and currently teach third grade in a classical school.
