As an instructor and tutor, I love being an integral part of a student's learning journey. I enjoy working with students to build upon the skills they have and to explore areas where they may uncover new skills. Students in the past have often noted that my calm demeanor and commitment to their learning process has helped them gain confidence while learning.
I have worked with students from all over the world teaching multiple different subjects. My first ever teaching experience was in the equestrian world where I began working at a local horse rescue and taught the volunteers how to create relationships with the rescue horses and make them more adoptable. This experience is when I fell in love with being a part of the learning process for others. This passion continued as I pursued my degrees in communication and anthropology at New Mexico State University. I found every aspect of the learning process to be fascinating and was intrigued by the different strategies used to help uncover skills or approach new topics. Outside of tutoring and working with fellow students my ability to convey information in a succinct and kind manner has served me well in the various positions I have held after college. I plan for these skills to continue to help me as I begin pursuing a Master's degree in counseling.
I tutor students in a wide range of subjects beginning with the basics such as writing, reading, social sciences, and art. I also tutor in more specialized fields such as anthropology and art history, photography and visual arts, as well as business classes focusing on the building of small businesses and the marketing involved. I enjoy tutoring every subject that helps connect my students to an interest or passion of theirs. Are you wanting to dip your toe into the photography world and have no idea how to get started? I'm the perfect tutor for you. DO you want to explore the incredible world of art and anthropology? I can show you new perspectives on the areas of history you may think you already know. I'm here to help you learn and grow in any subject that sparks excitement for you.
My style of teaching focuses on what will help you to succeed. My interest is in making sure you as the student are engaged with the material and can see the progress you are making. I teach in a way that will help you actually grasp a full understanding of the material rather than focus on surface-level information or rote memorization. I get my students to actively engage with the materials and information so that their learning process feels organic and that they can walk away from their sessions feeling confident in their knowledge.
If you are seeking a tutor to help ignite your passion for learning and who can provide you with expert information on the topics you are interested in then I would be happy to work with you and create a great learning experience for you.
