In 2007, I graduated from The City College of New York with a double major in English, specializing in Literature, and Black Studies. The objective of both these majors allowed me to broaden my scope in how I looked at and interacted with the world around me. I graduated with honors and continued my vocation in education immediately taking an offer in working at the college's Child Development Center. This place was magical! A montessori style setting that allowed children to become fully engaged through the exploration of art, music and play. I continued working in the education field, expanding my role as a Teaching Artist working with children in elementary, middle and high school (including specialized schools). The goal was to empower and enrich positive youth development in an interactive and safe environment that featured life skills, health awareness and character development.

For the past 7 years I have been working very closely with middle school students in helping them catch up to grade level academics: reading, writing, math, etc. In contained classroom settings, I was able to recognize, connect and assess students' individual needs. I believe every child is a genius, and my job and reward is to help their confidence in bringing their success to light.

My career as an educator has been going strong for 14 years. I am not only passionate about teaching, but confident that I can be a great benefit to your child's growth.
