The best and most important mission is to train tomorrow's biology, science, and conservation leaders. The future of much wildlife will depend on tomorrow's conservation leaders in any country that I have worked in ecology and conservation projects [whether it be Brazil or Indonesia or America]. I honestly can not think of a better legacy and a more worthwhile life-effort than to contribute to the education of undergraduate or graduate students as well as continue my own varied research projects! I have always had the magic ingredient every good teacher or professor must have - the innate and compelling interest to teach to help others and the enjoyment of the process itself, regardless of the setting and audience.
