I have been in the business world for over 17 years with a good portion spent in technical sales. One of the advantages of my background in sales is that I have spent much of my time educating and getting customers excited about all of the features and benefits of my products to improve their life. This same theory can be applied to teaching. Here, the product I am "selling" to my student is science. I believe I have what it takes to connect with my students, make them excited about the different scientific concepts and lastly how they can apply this to their lives.

Additionally, I believe in teaching and motivating from the most basic of life's lessons: success and failure. I think the students should know that it is OK to fail, because at least you have tried and have taken a risk. What did you learn from it? How can I improve my methods to turn my next try into a win? I want to help develop their analytical side. My sales background has provided me with the opportunity where I did not always make the sale. I have had great days closing big deals. Having found that I have learned more from my failures than from my successes and it has made my successes that much greater. This is the type of experience that I will bring to the classroom.
