Helping others to learn Spanish has always been a passion of mine because I was once in the same position.
I've tutored students in English and in Spanish for several years both here in the United States and in South America. I've worked with children as young as 8 years old to people well into their 60s and 70s.
I learned Spanish through full immersion living with South Americans in Peru. I was responsible for it teaching thousands of people various subjects from religion to English and Spanish. This year I finished up my studies at Brigham Young University Idaho in psychology and Spanish. This means I know all about learning theories and about the language I teach. As the crowning achievement of my studies, I ranked in the top 15 percent of all students nationally for my degree choice.
I have received the "Maestro Como El Maestro" award for teaching and have graduated with my bachelors in Spanish and psychology.
I uniquely tutor in Spanish ranging from the most basic levels into undergraduate level studies.
Conversational Spanish, grammar, composition, and introductory Spanish are my favorite classes to tutor because students have a hard time with them, and I've figured it out and now I can help others.
It's all about understanding the students needs and the student's comprehension. How can you teach anyone if you don't first understand what they already know? I used the Socratic principles of questioning and learning to elicit edifying breakthroughs.
I enjoyed cooking South American dishes with my wife, traveling, fishing, and photography.
