Certified Tutor

I am a student at Columbia University. I study the cognitive sciences and humanities, which include neuroscience, computer science, philosophy, psychology, psychoanalytic readings of art and literature, and linguistics! I have tutored students in English literature, philosophy, computer science, the ACT, the SAT, math, chemistry, and physics for the past five years. In addition, I regularly volunteer at the Literacy Network helping adult learners receive their diplomas, and at my local library, organizing educational events for children.

I enjoy most those moments when a student forgets what they can and cannot do and gets lost in the subject matter. True moments of discovery occur when we absurdly, naively lose the boundaries between our little candles and the darkness around.

Further, I love encouraging students to see the light that exists naturally within them -- my tutoring space is an inclusive and welcoming one for all! I care about my students and their whole well-being, present and future. I enjoy developing beautiful relationships with all my students, so that I can see them off into the world more developed and confident than they were when I started working with them.

I am a pianist, organist, guitarist, and composer. In addition, I love to read literature, write poetry, cook, and bicycle around Cambridge, where I'm spending my summer doing a research assistantship at the University of Cambridge Consciousness and Cognition Lab.
