Hey! My name is Kotryna (pronounced like "Katrina") and I am excited to help you be successful in your academic pursuits.

I graduated with my master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from AT Still University. I completed a research thesis in the physiology department with a focus on the interactions of the innate immune system with melanoma. I have experience with cell culture maintenance, flow cytometry, manuscript writing and working in a lab environment. During my masters, I took courses alongside medical students including biochemistry, physiology, histology and immunology. I was also a weightlifting club coach, spent time volunteering with the local community and shadowed several physicians.

For my undergrad, I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and got my bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I was an intern for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and taught 2 semesters of a Transfer Advantage course to transfer students. I was a student ambassador for McGraw-Hill Education for 4 years and I have experience with various online learning platforms, public speaking, and leadership.

I am currently working as a medical scribe at a Women's Health Clinic and will be applying to medical school next year. In my spare time I like to run, hike, visit coffee shops, do yoga and make healthy plant-based snacks.
