Dr. Jolan Wu graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Biology. She worked during college to put herself through school, so she understands the challenges of learning to multitask education with life's demands. After college, she went on to earn a full scholarship at Western University of Health Sciences, where she pursued graduate studies in the biomedical sciences, with a focus on biochemical pathways implicated in long term potentiation and memory formation. This is where she learned to master learning strategies and achieved Dean's List for the full consecutive two years for her M.S. degree. She went on to excelling during medical school and on her boards, becoming an NIH award recipient, and a general surgery resident at the University of Washington. Now, as she prioritizes motherhood and family, she is taking a break from her training to focus on transferring to a program more local to her home community, where she can find better balance between her career and family.

Jolan has extensive experience helping students succeed in their USMLE and COMLEX goals. Not only is she a subject expert, but she also teaches general learning and memory strategies effective for long-term retention. Her students benefit highly from her personalized tutoring and mentorship approach, and she subscribes to the idea of "...teach someone to fish and you feed them for life". She is passionate and confident that she can help you achieve your goals, wherever your residency endeavors lie.

Outside of her medical journey, she has a passion for figure skating and has continued to work as an instructor for youth ice skating programs. She also has a 5-year-old boy 2 dogs, and enjoys spending time with her family.
