Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington. I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and have received my Master of Education with a concentration in Best Practices. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and am trained in the Orton Gillingham method of teaching phonics and reading. Since graduating, I moved to Chicago where I have been teaching in a low-income school for the last 8 years. I now teach kindergarten in Winnetka Public Schools. I continuously advocate for the rights of these young children. I can tutor any subject from Kindergarten to 3rd grade but am most passionate about teaching children how to read. I am the oldest sibling & the daughter of a teacher so my passion for education started at a young age. I believe that every child can learn given the appropriate time, tools, and educator. Learning should be fun & engaging which is why I love to incorporate music & movement into everything I teach. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my 2 dogs & cat, going to yoga, & listening to podcasts.
