Hello!
My name is Audrey Rose, and I currently am based in Atlanta, GA. I have a B.A. in East Asian Studies (with a focus in the Japanese language) from Mount Holyoke College, where I was awarded the 2021 Jonathan N. Lipman Aware for excellence in the field of East Asian Studies.
While I studied Japanese the language, Japanese linguistics, and Japanese literature during my undergraduate years, the focus of my historical research was grounded in environmentalism and anti-imperialism in China, Japan, and Korea through media and literature. As my major was interdisciplinary and centered in media analysis, I am deeply familiar with paper writing, paper editing, research skills, and synthesization of theses.
I have over a year of experience with teaching/tutoring Japanese, for which I have also developed my own practice and teaching materials (which I always make freely available for all students). Additionally, I was a teaching assistant in 9thGrade Civics/Economics and 10thGrade American Literature; as I have an International Baccalaureate diploma, I used the opportunity of the American Literature course to help the students foster their literary analysis skills in preparation for their future I.B. courses and exams.
My goal in any teaching setting is to listen to the student's wants and needs and tailor the lessons to best suit them. Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and to keep finding new things to learn throughout their life.

If I am not reading a science fiction book (my absolute, hands down, end-all-be-all favorite genre), then I am probably watching a cyberpunk, post-apocalypse movie. Or, I might be reading a Webtoon or two. If I'm not doing any of the above, then I'm probably just watching my two cats, Poppy and Juniper.
