I am a Junior at Yale college, majoring in mathematics and linguistics. I have been tutoring math, science, and test prep for 5 years now, including clients in middle and high school, college, and working professionals. I mainly focus on math classes and the SAT and ACT, as this is where my main interests lie. My experience with math gives me a unique perspective on math education, and I aim to help students cut through the jargon and symbols to understand simple, core concepts that underlie them. My sessions usually involve starting with difficult problems, using these as a jumping off point to explore the ideas behind them. I often find that most math can be reframed as an abstraction of basic intuition, and that this approach is most helpful for getting both the big picture, and the details.
