I am originally from Los Angeles and have been on the East Coast since my college years. I am a first-generation college graduate (a Dartmouth College and Harvard Graduate School of Education alum).
I am a Teach for America alum. I taught 5th grade for three years in Bridgeport, CT, during which time I most enjoyed teaching Math, Reading Comprehension, and Social Studies.
I have experience working with K-12 aged school children and college freshmen in the classroom, summer camps, and other enrichment opportunities.
I am a strong believer that youth should be active agents in their learning. I also believe that in order for youth to be able to strive for their definition of success it is necessary that they are surrounded by committed, understanding, and championing adults - I consider myself to be just that.
