I am a graduate from Lee University where I received a double Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I will also be completing a Master's of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of Illinois in May 2022, focusing on Hispanophone and Francophone literatures.

During my undergraduate career, I spent two years teaching local immigrants and refugees English at Lee University's English Language Center before becoming the Student Director my senior year.

After graduation, I moved to Bolivia to become a teacher of English (as I am a certified ESL/EFL teacher) at the Unidad Acadmica Campesina-Carmen Pampa in Bolivia, teaching English to college EFL students with varying levels of proficiency. Furthermore, while in Bolivia, I worked as a copy editor on numerous academic papers for Bolivian biologists who publish in academic journals written in English.

With all of this experience, I have over fours years of experience in the study and teaching of all aspects of English: writing, reading, understanding literature, grammar, general comprehension, standardized test preparation (such as the ACT or GRE), and ESL/EFL. My diversity of teaching experiences both abroad and in the United States, as well as my undergraduate studies, have given me a deep understanding of the English language and how to teach its various applications to all types of learners.

Furthermore, during my Master's degree at UIUC, I have been a Teacher's Assistant for 4 courses including Greek Mythology, Indian Cinema, and World Travel Literature. This time has also made me more fluent in Spanish and has given me a working knowledge of French.

In my free time, I love to read, rockclimb, hike and backpack, and learn new languages.
