Certified Tutor

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Liberal Arts from the Lincoln University of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I am studying for real estate and an Educational Specialist degree.

While a sophomore at the Lincoln University, I was appointed Lead Writing Tutor for the Department of Languages and Literature. This department services the entire school body including graduate students in understanding the mechanics of different types of writing. I enjoyed this experience because it provided me with a broad perspective of client service. It also helped me to embrace my potential while building my peers' confidence.

My favorite subjects to tutor would be Reading Comprehension, Writing, Social Studies, Science and Mathematics.

In this definition and explanation of my Philosophy of Teaching, it is not at all asserting the intent to convert an individual (student), but it is articulating what roles must be developed to create a just community and a voice that will be heard. It is not the educator's responsibility to name the role a student must adhere to, in order to establish a liberating community. This indeed would be creating a boundary. But the educator's responsibility is to be a contributor to liberating the students' mind from the norm. This then will eventually bring the student to the realization of his or her purpose; which leads to a transformation. This is not conversion at all, but the learning processes of the students self. During metamorphoses, the student learns himself or herself and develop an understanding of what, who, how, and why they are and came to be. This process then contributes to what their mission is in the world. My assignment as an Educator is to stimulate high level cognition, which will leave the student with the appetite for more for themselves.

Outside of teaching I enjoy eating, boxing, swimming, walking, track & field, weightlifting, spending time with family, networking and cooking.
