Physics can be intimidating. It is not enough to memorize equations and plug-in numbers. I make sure my students have a physical grasp of the problem by thinking through numerous real world examples, ensuring they are confident when they stumble upon their next physics question.
I recently completely my PhD in Experimental Particle Physics from the University at Buffalo (UB) where I studied subatomic particles produced in collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN- the world's largest scientific facility! My research involved heavy use of the C++ and Python programming languages. In addition to my research, I was a Teaching Assistant at UB for three years where I taught recitation for hundreds of Intro Physics students. Class sizes were about 40 students, and I also held office hours every other day for small groups and one-on-one tutoring. I always received the most positive feedback from my students.
