My name is Neali Rogers and I am an educator for 4th and 5th grade students in a public school in Brooklyn, NY. I am also a recent graduate of the New York University Master's B-6 Literacy Program. Before attending NYU, I graduated from the Inclusive Elementary and Special Education program at Syracuse University. I believe wholeheartedly in educating all students to help them reach their full potential. Specifically, I've had experience in Kindergarten, as well as Grades 2- 5. My goals as a teacher include building student's self-confidence, creating a safe space that fosters trusting, accepting, and meaningful relationships, and helping students to achieve personal best. I will achieve these goals in my sessions by devoting my time, both inside and outside of the session, to my students, and making lasting educational experiences. I also plan to make content culturally relevant so that the students are engaged and feel not only connected to their learning experiences but that they see themselves as a valued member of the classroom community. It is extremely important that content is presented in multiple modalities, keeping in mind that every learner is unique, and instruction needs to be differentiated to support the varying needs of a typical student. In order to provide differentiated pedagogy, it is important to consistently assess the needs of the students in order to tailor and inform instruction accordingly. Through the mindset of data-driven instruction, I am able to make appropriate educational decisions that will impact the achievement of my students.
