I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

My teaching philosophy appreciates that education should endeavor to offer inventive and responsive educational opportunities in an accessible, inclusive environment.
Teaching methodology: Many pedagogical demands arise from the diversity of today's students - in terms of their preparation, expectations, and aspirations. In light of this, educational knowledge is paramount in guiding teaching practices - learning to teach is an ongoing process of development.
Tutors (instructors) can (1) keep up with developments in their field of expertise by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences; (2) do research to expand their knowledge in their field; (3) use technology extensively, including the Internet, e-mail, and software programs; (4) use computers as teaching aids - posting subject content, notes, schedules, and other information on line; (5) use e-mail, instant messages, and other technologies to facilitate communication between the student and instructor; (6) use the Internet to tutor students at remote sites.
I believe that educational philosophies that concentrate on presenting course material in a highly organized, reasonably paced manner, using assessments that are both objective and subjective are desirable; sensible grading is important, and alignment with research-based best practices should be used to improve success among developmental learners. This methodology would increase student performance, improve public confidence, and confer respect to Varsity Tutors, benefiting both non-traditional and traditional students. When all students are learning substantive material taught by devoted and concerned tutors, they will be motivated to higher levels of achievement.
The goal is to provide a high-quality learning experience that is both flexible and innovative.
It is important to design creative opportunities that involve students in their studies to ensure that students remain focused on their education.
