I have had diverse and unique experiences as a teacher and tutor over the past 30+ years. I think I bring a unique set of skills to the table to help a variety of students. I have taught at the Undergraduate, Graduate and High School level, online and in a face to face setting. I am committed to helping students succeed and grow in confidence and ability.

I believe Mathematics is a language we use to understand order in our universe. An understanding of mathematics helps to develop critical thinking and logic. Many of us learn in different ways, and sometimes explaining this language in a way students can understand, based on their experience and learning style, can make all the difference in helping them to really understand math.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Syracuse University. As an undergraduate student, I tutored for the athletic department as well as the main student tutoring service. My areas of expertise included Algebra and Statistics.

Following graduation, I entered the United States Air Force. I served in the Air Force for over 15 years, I separated when my oldest daughter was born.

While still on Active Duty, I earned two Masters degrees, an MS in Logistics Management from The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and an MS in Military Operational Art and Science from The Air Command and Staff College Resident Program. While a student at AFIT I tutoring several fellow graduate students in business Statistics, Operations Research, Simulation, and Quantitative analysis.

I began working for Embry-Riddle University Extended Campus in 1996 as an Adjunct Instructor. I taught undergraduate and graduate students in Logistics and Air Transportation. I taught Logistics/Supply Chain Analysis as well as management classes. I was among one of the first instructors to teach online classes for the University beginning in 2001. I am very comfortable teaching using online resources. I left ERAU in 2010.

In addition to teaching at the university level, I began to homeschool my own children in 2006. I continue homeschooling today; I have graduated my oldest daughter who is now a sophomore studying Bio-Medical Science at Texas A&M University. I still have a high school student at home. I have taught various high school mathematics courses to include elementary mathematics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and Saxon Advanced Math (Trigonometry and pre-calculus). I have also tutored students in these subjects as well as SAT and ACT preparation.
