I am a graduate of Washington State University with a bachelor's and master's degree in physics and astronomy. For the latter, I conducted research as part of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration as part of the team that were able to make the first direct detection of gravitational waves from inspiraling black holes.
In my graduate career, I have worked a number of semesters as a graduate teaching assistant, teaching introductory physics labs, and tutoring undergraduate students in physics related topics.
I am currently working on my PhD in underwater physical acoustics, and I hope that I can use my research and teaching experience to help connect real world examples with motivation for more abstract topics in areas such as calculus and statistics. There is beauty in the physical universe, and these are the tools we use to describe the world in which we live.
