I graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico with my Bachelor of Arts in English Studies and a Minor in Interdisciplinary Studies.

For my degree, I actually did not focus on literature, though I did take courses in that. I focused on technical and professional communications, which means that I learned how to write clearly, coherently, concisely, and persuasively for different audiences and for different purposes.

I have tutored students in high school in English and math, but also students in college where I taught them how to write while I critiqued their work, ranging from essays to powerpoint presentations.

I have been blessed to study subjects beyond reading and writing. As a student, I took an educational internship where we, the students, published an original magazine with creative work by undergraduates from more than 220 colleges and universities. In short, we had to learn small business technology, fundraising, marketing and distribution, event planning, and small press management and operations.

Today, my work has taken me beyond academia. I now work for a landscaping company while continuing to volunteer for my church.
