I began my educational career while at the University of Florida. I received my bachelor's degree in theatre. In my college summers I taught at camps, summer schools, and in my community. During my school year I tutored migrant Mexican Farm workers and assisted in teaching them literacy. After I graduated from UF I became a part of Teach for America. With that opportunity I again taught summer school and then a middle school in Brooklyn for three years. In my first two years I received my graduate degree--a Master's in teaching.
I have taught Reading, Writing, Math, and science. I love to read stories and teach kids to read along. Children's literature is important to help students see themselves in the world. Reading also teaches empathy. I am an outstanding tutor because I have taught kids of many ages and many backgrounds.
