As a lifelong learner and a former student of math, reading, and standardized test programs, I have learned how valuable an encouraging and motivating tutor can be.

I started working at Kumon Math and Reading in 2012, and found a love for helping others learn. Overcoming their obstacles became a personal victory for me, and I enjoyed meeting with clients one or two days a week and watching them grow in their confidence in math and reading problems. I began nannying in 2014, and doing homework or practicing instruments is still my favorite time of the day.

I believe the environment surrounding learning is the key to success. Growing up, my dad was the master of math problems, known for phrases such as "number eight, come on down! You're the next contestant on long division" (in the voice of Bob Barker). My goal is to impart the same sense of exuberance to my students as he did to me.

I believe that the most important thing to gain from tutoring is not just a better score, but an increased confidence in abilities and an innate curiosity for learning. I look forward to learning more about your academic needs and dreams, and hope we can work together in the future!

I grew up in theatre and am currently studying Musical Theatre at Northwestern University, along with Marketing and Film. I founded my middle school's math team and also know a shortcut to the quadratic equation - ask me at our first meeting!
