I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I received my Bachelor of Science in Special Education K-12 with an emphasis on cognitive disabilities. After graduation, I moved to Minnesota where I taught for four years in a program called Students with Unique Needs (SUN Program). During those four years I taught for three years in a middle school classroom and one year in our Individual Program. While there I taught students with both severe behavioral and cognitive challenges in all academic, social and functional living areas. For my fifth year of teaching I moved to Indiana where I currently teach in a high school Life Skills classroom. The students I have served within this setting range from medically fragile to capable of retaining future jobs. I teach all academic areas, as well as social and functional living skills. I am most passionate about helping students who need a little extra support and watching student growth, no matter the pace. In my experience helping students with learning difficulties, I have found that ALL students are capable of learning and deserve the opportunity to grow. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, being outdoors, watching and participating in sports (specifically dance and softball/baseball) and watching movies and shows on Netflix.
