I'm a current graduate student pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the Iowa Writers' Workshop. I received my undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, where I majored in a program that combined history, philosophy, and literature. Since graduating college in 2013, I've taught ESL in Valparaiso, Chile, worked as a substitute teacher and after school educator in Philadelphia, and mentored young writers in Iowa City.

For me, learning isn't just about gaining specific knowledge and skills. It's about the excitement that comes from encountering new things, and about growing into a more confident and capable version of oneself. This is an idea that informs all my teaching and tutoring work: I want to help guide my students toward a deeper investment in their own learning.

When I'm not teaching, I'm probably reading, writing, cooking, or exploring Brooklyn by bike.
