Hi! My teaching philosophy is to come prepared and bring a whiteboard so we can get some learning done! I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (go Chiefs!) in 2016 where I studied English and Biology. I'm currently applying to graduate school. And I went to high school at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL.

I try not to lecture! Instead, I give a quick overview of a topic, work on specific material, and teach as we encounter new things! I always stop for a question. And I ask a lot of leading questions myself, like, "What if it were like this instead?" I've found that writing down everything we go over and reviewing it at the end helps knowledge "stick," better too.

I did well in school and I want you to do well, too! When I tutor I ask: what needs to be learned, how can it be taught, and have they learned it. I like to show students how this process can occur through class, homework, and review so they can become independent learners.
