I am a passionate individual who is excited about learning. I have a graduate degree in Sociology, have taken multiple advanced courses in Statistics, and have a minor in Spanish. My experience includes two years as a graduate teaching assistant at Colorado State University and two years as a swim lesson instructor for the City of Corvallis. While working as a graduate teaching assistant, I taught in front of classes and helped students with homework for statistics and sociology courses.

In graduate school, I was known as the teacher. I went out of my way to attend teaching seminars and jumped at opportunities to lecture in front of classes. When applying for the graduate teaching award, numerous students wrote me letters of recommendation stating that I was instrumental in them passing the class, because I was able to communicate difficult concepts in easy-to-undertand manners.

My teaching philosophy is to guide and show, not tell, students how to complete complex problems and assignments. This includes going through multiple examples to make theoretical concepts concrete and asking questions that aid the student in fully understanding concepts, so they are able to solve new problems on their own.

I am looking forward to working with people to better understand difficult subjects. My areas of expertise include: Statistics, Writing, Spanish, and Sociology. I hope to meet you soon!
