Certified Tutor

I am a student at Rice University working on a BA in psychology with a minor in mathematics. Additionally, I plan on pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching. I also have an interest in art and religious studies (mainly the study of Christianity and Judaism). In the past I have tutored a variety of math subjects to both middle and high school students; however, I can also assist with reading, writing, Spanish, SAT, and more. If I had to choose, I would say that my strongest subjects are middle school math and algebra. I am enthusiastic about helping others to succeed and sharing my love for learning. I have found that many students simply need encouragement and confidence in themselves in order to improve, and it is my goal to provide that. I like guiding students to think and analyze on their own so that when they are on their own they can be successful too. I also let students make mistakes and then walk through their steps with them so that they can see where they need to be more careful. I look forward to doing whatever I can to help out!
