I have my BA from the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison in Communications and my MFA from UMKC in Acting/Directing. I have been teaching grades 5-college for almost 20 years. I am currently teaching Speech (Public Speaking) and Acting at Oakton Community College in Skokie, IL. My speech classes focus heavily on good writing and research skills to help students have a solid foundation from which to help their presentations. In other words, it's a lot easier not to be nervous when you have a really good speech in your hand. I've also taught Comparative Literature at NIU (as a guest Instructor) and can help with writing Lit papers and analyzing a text. Having a hard time understanding some thematic elements in Orwell's "1984"? Let's talk! I believe in student centered learning, building a good foundation of skills and (hopefully) enjoying ourselves while we're doing it. I look forward to meeting you!
