Certified Tutor

Realizing that you are capable of something you were not able to do before is an amazing feeling. I love helping others realize his or her own potential. I have been teaching elementary school for 14 years with experience in Pre-K through 4th grade. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida in 2006. I believe that reading is like a giant puzzle with beautiful little pieces which all fit together perfectly to build a greater picture. Each tiny new skill acquired adds more to one's understanding of that bigger picture. That's why teaching reading is my favorite area of focus. I also love teaching math and science. When I'm not teaching, I love cooking, running, playing with my 2 dogs, and watching hockey and baseball.

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." This quote is very dear to me and comes from my favorite author, Theodor Geisel also known as Dr. Seuss. To me it represents my philosophy of learning; it is exponential in nature. Each seemingly small skill or piece of knowledge acquired leads to the ability to learn twice as many new things. I look forward to helping build the puzzle of knowledge with your learner.
