Certified Tutor

Hi there! My name is Noel -- I'm a Columbia graduate with over 5 years of tutoring. I obtained my B.A. in History and Anthropology at Carnegie Mellon University in 2016 and my M.A. from Columbia University in 2017. I'm currently a Museum Educator at the Abbe Museum, teaching school groups in the subject of American History so it's evident I thrive off of learning and teaching! My areas of tutoring expertise are in English Grammar/Editing, ESL, Literature, Writing/Reading, Social Studies, SSAT/SAT, History and French; however, I have also coached students through resume writing, personal statements and college admissions.

My goal for each tutoring session is to leave the student more confident in his or her subject skills. I tailor and personalize each tutoring sessions according to your needs, and won't stop helping you improve until you are satisfied with your results! I work with students in every stage of the writing process -- whether you are stuck brainstorming a topic, or need general help figuring out how to structure an essay -- I'm here to help! What I love about tutoring is the feeling of accomplishment that a student feels after finishing an essay that they can be proud of. Nothing brings me more joy than to help a student's ideas come to life on paper.

I have also tutored ESL for 4+ years, and bring my communication and writing skills to each lesson to help students gain a colloquial as well as academic understanding of the English language.

I have flexible hours, and am willing to hold online lessons around your schedule. Have a question? Shoot me a message, and I'd be more than happy to help you out!
