Certified Tutor

As a future special education teacher and current substitute teacher, I am excited to become a tutor with Varsity Tutors. I am currently enrolled in the MEd + Licensure special education program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and am set to begin my studies in August of 2017.

My background includes working as a substitute teacher during the 2016-2017 school year for multiple districts in Columbus, OH. These districts were urban, suburban, and rural in nature. I served as a substitute teacher in both general and special education classrooms at the elementary, middle, and high school level. In addition, I accepted two long-term assignments throughout the year; one in a special needs preschool classroom, and another in a math and reading resource room at the 3rd-5th grade level.

Previously, while earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology, I worked as a tutor in the athletic department at West Virginia University. I conducted both individual and small group sessions, and created written study materials for my students. In my free time, I volunteered in a special needs Transition classroom at the University, and worked at a recreation center for individuals with disabilities in the Morgantown area.

I am excited to be in the Chicagoland region and work in the urban setting. I am fully committed to working with a diverse group of students from many backgrounds and of all abilities. I believe my past experience and my dedication to education make me an ideal tutor!
