I hold a PhD in Comparative Literature at Rutgers University. I also hold a MA in Comparative Literature from Rutgers and received a BA in Modern Literary Studies from UC Santa Cruz with a focus on French Language and Literature. At Rutgers, I have taught courses in the Comparative Literature department, the English Writing Program, and the Honors College. Prior to Rutgers, I was a High School teacher where I taught for 7 years a variety of courses such as French, Latin, Spanish, and English. I have lived in France and return often to travel and to visit friends. My goal is to educate students in both character and content and to motivate them to work independently. My teaching style is easy going yet with firm and realistic expectations which I try to meet with discussion based learning, formulas and examples when necessary, and humor.
