Certified Tutor

I truly love teaching and I am always excited to help students excel! I am currently a medical student in the Chicago area. I received my bachelors degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where I majored in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology, an interdisciplinary major studying the brain and mind from a variety of perspectives.

While I tutor a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about helping students with standardized test prep (MCAT and SAT) and public speaking. I believe that by striving for true understanding, rather than rote memorization, students will ultimately learn more thoroughly and retain skills and information better in the long run. So, I tend to use a Socratic teaching style to help students work through practice problems.

For those interested in MCAT tutoring: I did take the new (2015) version of the MCAT, and am therefore comfortable tutoring for the new Psych/Soc section (as well as other sections of the new MCAT).

For those interested in public speaking: I fell in love with public speaking during high school, when I joined my school's speech and debate team. When I began coaching younger teammates as an upperclassman, I also discovered my passion for teaching. Although medicine will be my profession, public speaking is a passion and a skill that I will carry with me and use throughout my career. I would love to help you develop the same skills.
