As a rising sophomore at Rice University, I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, as well as a minor in Neuroscience. In high school, I often worked with fellow students to help them understand difficult concepts in subjects I understood well, such as pre-algebra and biology. I feel that students learn best when I teach concepts and then guide them through problems involving those concepts, rather than students just watching me do problems for them. In this way, students are able to thoroughly understand the process involved in solving a certain problem, and can redo that type of problem at a later time. I believe that education is really important to help people get the most out of their lives, and my main goal as a tutor is to help students learn well so they have a strong knowledge base that will help them be successful in their future endeavors!
