My name is Sophia. I'm from Ohio. I went to Kent State University and graduated in 2016. My degree is in Biology (which means I know lots of math and chemistry too!). I did lots of scientific research at Kent State and can tell you all about plants and bugs. My hobbies are reading, writing, and playing with my dog.

What is your teaching philosophy?
This session should be used to build a relationship with the student and help determine educational goals to direct future tutoring sessions. Building a friendly relationship with the student helps the student feel relaxed during sessions, increasing their learning ability. Building a relationship also encourages the student to respect the teacher's expertise. Figuring out educational goals for future sessions means teachers must figure out which areas the student wants to improve their skills. The teacher must also do a little "detective work" to figure out why a student might be struggling so as to know how best to help them.
