I believe the best student is also the best tutor. I am the kind that likes to engage my students in everything I teach them. I received my Bachelor's degree in Biology from Syracuse university, master's in biomedical science at Touro and currently at New York College of Podiatric medicine hoping to become Podiatric surgeon and expert in foot and ankle diseases.

What is your teaching philosophy?
We all love to read stories or watch TV shows with good story line. Always reading any passage like we would read any story boosts comprehension tremendously.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I will get to know the student, ask the student their learning strategy, ask how I can possibly help them, and then proceed to them.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By teaching themselves once they feel confident about their knowledge base.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
To look at the finish line. Picture their career goals in mind and imagine not being able to fulfill that goal.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I will break the concept down and teach it from the basics.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
We all love to read stories or watch TV shows with good story line. Always reading any passage like we would read any story boosts comprehension tremendously.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Getting to know the student's needs and how best you can help them understand the material.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
I will give student practice questions to do, and based on their performance, I can tell or judge their level of understanding.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
To make the subject fun. To tell the student how that subject applies in life and that the subject is not useless.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
I will break it down into the basics and also show them real-life application of the subject. Most students hate certain classes because they don't see how it's been applied in real life.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
I use my own personal notes I make from reviewing the material. Sometimes, I use YouTube and other websites.
