My objective is to assist students into becoming successful participants in society by giving them the educational confidence needed. I started tutoring, mentoring and teaching dance at the age of fourteen. I have worked in corporate America, and the non profit sector but my passion has always remained with children. I have a daughter and I give my students as much as I would give my own child.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe any student can learn anything if it can be made interesting.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Learn about you as a student. Learn about your friends, hobbies, mentors, and ways you like to be rewarded. Play a game.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By providing tips and tricks that best work with how the student learns.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I give rewards.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Find creative and repetitive ways to enforce the concept. Break down the skill to find the disconnect and focus on repairing.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Read, read, read. Find subjects that they are interested in. Work to develop vocabulary through subject books. It is easier to understand things you are interested in.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Building trust and giving rewards.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Comparing it to something they are interested in, like a hobby or skill they want to learn, and of course, giving rewards.
