Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate of the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor's in International Studies, and a former peer mentor of the university's English Language Center. Additionally, I have a background in Mandarin through high school/college level courses and a state funded summer language exchange at the National Taiwan University. I have been tutoring students of K-12, university and business level in language art over the past 8 years, and I am always excited to assist prospective students in meeting their academic goals.

What is your teaching philosophy?
The path to higher education is not constrained to one cure-all method of learning, and it is up to us as educators to circumnavigate new, creative outlets for success alongside our students.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Initially, I assess how the student prioritizes his/her given tasks in respect to the time allotted, and from there I would seek to optimize this before breaking down the more technical aspects of their problem.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I believe that the best way to keep students motivated while challenging them with difficult material is by also reviewing and reinforcing the components they already do know. I feel that by doing so, they are less likely to become discouraged and more likely to uncover previously missed connections in their given subject.
