What is your teaching philosophy?

Every student can learn. People learn differently, and it is my goal to find out how a student learns and design the lesson to fit that style.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Get to know the student and find out what they want to accomplish. I usually like to find out what they know about a subject.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By learning to recognize when they don't understand something and asking questions.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

We continue to go over it. We may try a different way to go over it, but continue to go over the information.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

I like to break down the reading passage into smaller chunks, discuss each part, and put it all together.
